Allow me to borrow the words of someone who independently confirmed my hypothesis:

RT @davekellett Check out the special guest appearance by a 48-year old Kris Straub in today's http://www.starslip.com

Indeed not everyone, just Mr. Straub when wearing a goatee.

This brings up the interesting question of the briefly-viewed beardless Straub.

Is he a visitor from another plane of existence? Or is he not a visitor at all, but an employee from another plane of existence?

I love the last panel of 13-10-09. Why would they bring any weapons with them.:)

One day far in the future, a non-essential character will be featured in a strip who is both quite normal, doesn't get killed within the story arc and isn't a baddie in disguise.

I agree. I saw Seneca the Younger's name rendered as "Lucius A. Seneca," which is very odd. It bothered me until I realized that the most famous of all Romans would be

Gaius J. Caesar.
