Periodic table | May 31, 2004 21:44:17 PM
Are there any unbroken periodic table charts anywhere? Or do they all have the sixth and seventh rows chopped out and placed below for layout's sake? I don't need it for anything, I'm just curious.

I saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind today. It's such a sad movie, different from the first draft I read. It's more humorous on-screen, and I don't know that it necessarily made me "re-evaluate all my past relationships," as one reviewer said it did. At least, what it leaves you with is what I already wanted to believe, and believed, and was sad about anyway -- that the past is what it is, and can't be taken away from you, and continues to exist like that for the rest of your life. That it doesn't matter what happened, what changed. It was what it was, and it will always be what it was.

Also the ending was more upbeat and said "give it a try anyway." I sort of preferred the more bleak ending.

Dad, regarding the LifeGem:

"The deceased's ashes can be completely diamonized, or you can leave a small chunk of meat intact in the center (LifeGem's 'Tootsie Roll')."

When you guys finally move on to Heaven, I will be sad. But I'll also ignore your last wishes and make gaudy-looking artificial diamonds out of your remains. Here's how!

We can do it, together | May 9, 2004 21:56:03 PM
Checkerboard Nightmare. $80,000. I know what you're asking: "How can I help?"

A lot of other webcomics have been doing this for a while now, and I really haven't taken advantage of it. I'm going to be attending the San Diego Comic-Con, July 22nd through the 25th, and I will be at the preview night on the 21st. I'll be hanging out around the Keenspot booth, and I'll probably get some time at the booth, too, giving away things. Possibly wearing Chex's suit, I haven't decided if I want to take it there.

But the thing is, like every other webcartoonist out there, I need to raise some money before I can do that. So come on, CxN readers! Even donating a single dollar is appreciated. And in case you think I'm kidding or being ironic or something, I'm not. I'm a little fed up with Mega Man's Adventures in Cussing Land, hosted at GeoCities, being able to accumulate $300 in donations in a month. We can do better. Let's make this the most ridiculously enormous amount of money ever raised by a webcomic.

Let's raise $80,000. It can be done.
